The images in the Welcome to Tuskegee gallery were all shot in and around Tuskegee, Alabama, and with the exception of two or three, all of the images were shot with a large format camera. This is the beginning of what I hope to be a long term project. This project is a personal exploration for me, as my family hails from Tuskegee, and the Owens and Sons Dairy still stands there, mostly intact, though weary with age. I never knew my maternal grandparents, and both of my paternal grandparents died when I was ten years old. The deaths of my grandparents had a profound effect on me, the extent of which I may never know. This project is about becoming closer to the land that my family called home. |
